after so long, i'm back again.
well, it's been 7 weeks (i think so) since i last blogged. since the first week of my SD (Security Dog) training, i haven't been blogging. well, just to let all those of you who read (i do wonder if anyone still reads it though) that i have officially passed out as a certified SD Handler. these 7 weeks of training i really have learnt alot and also how to handle dogs.
the first few weeks was the toughest part of my training as my first dog (Bruno1) was a new dog. i had to make him learn and do new things that he was not taught before. however, he did not have any agression in him and although i tried all ways and means to agitate him, but he thought i was just playing with him. so no choice, i had to change to a trained dog. i took the trained dog (Roko) for just a few weeks till now, but he seems to respond to me rather well, or that's how i see it. He's cute and being a trained dog, he is much easier to control and handle. although he plays with his shit and being a bit playful at times, i still think i have a great rapport with him too. i took Roko for only one week plus and was then asked to go for assessment. luckily i passed and i felt really glad that i made it. the training has paid off and i officially passed out as a qualified and certified SD handler.
this week was my first day of work. monday went back to CCK base and waited for my dog to be transported to my new base at Changi. reached CSB and then had briefing by "mother" (she is our OC, but everyone in base calls her "mother"). went back home around four in the afternoon. tuesday was my first day of work. it was my night shift. kind of used to working shift work, but this time round, it was the first time i went to work along with my dog. i was also somehow the DTL of my team, as there were only two regular sergeants in my team. so i have to pick up this responsibility. i still have lots to learn though. today was as usual my first off. tomorrow i had to go back to old P.A for my IPPT retest. seriously hope i can pass. just passing my IPPT will do. as long as i can get 6 chin-ups, i believe i can pass. wish me luck.
alright, i think i should sign off. need ample rest for my IPPT tomorrow. nights everyone.
signing off.....
